The starters: Belgian specialties

A Belgian culinary specialty. It is a fried dish prepared as in the best fishmongers of the coastal city of Ostend with grey shrimp from the North Sea and a béchamel sauce with butter and slightly bisked milk, and breaded. Served with fried parsley.

The preparation consists of braising endives (chicory) in a saucepan , then rolling the chicory in slices of ham and putting everything in a baking dish by covering with béchamel sauce and grated cheese. We serve when the cheese is toasted. Served with mashed potatoes.

It is a preparation of ground meat shaped into large balls, which are golden on the sides and then simmered in a sweet and sour sauce with Liège syrup. Cork syrup is a kind of molasses from the cooking and reduction of apple and pear juices. Served with fries.
